Brahmie is laying eggs again!!!

I shook my head and did a double-take when I was visiting the girls the other day.
I stopped in to say Hi To Brahmie in her little tractor,
and at first I didn't see it, but then an egg caught my eye.

Say what?
An egg?
How on earth did that get in there?

Wait a minute... there's only one way that egg got in there!
Brahmie must have laid it!!!

Those of you who have been following the blog for awhile know that
Brahmie, our special needs hen, most likely had a stroke on Christmas Eve.
We've been taking special measures to care for her.
It's been a lot of work, but we love her.
She's totally worth it.

Hats off to my partner for not giving up on her
when I'm pretty sure that I would have if it had been up to me.

Now that it's spring,
we assembled some little places where Brahmie can be safe
and still be outside with her sisters and get to peck at the ground.

She seems to like it in her special spots.
And when we're visiting and hanging out in the chicken yard,
we take her out and watch her.
She talks to us, and her flock.

She's even starting to walk a little...!
She takes 2-4 steps at a time, and uses her wings to propel herself forward more.
If I can catch it on video, I'll post it here on the blog.

In the mean time...
Thanks for the eggs, Brahm!
We love your extra special eggs!

What a girl!!!
