bees alive!

Talk about a bee-autiful site...!
I was absolutely ecstatic to see
so many of our honeybees
on a warm day last weekend,
buzzing out of the hive to take cleansing flights.

These bees are from our "wild" top bar hives,
bees that I did not interfere / intervene with,
I simply provided them a home
and let them do what they know how to do.
My only intervention was to wrap the hive and surround it with hay bales
for the winter...

As messed up as climate change is,
maybe this unusually mild winter
will work out favorably for the bees.

They're alive and hanging in there...!

 Let's hope that if they've made it through February,

they can make it through the rest of the winter...
